Anakota 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Dakota Knights Valley

WA 94pts. - Winemaker Notes - The 2007 Helena Dakota Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine with a deep, dark red color. The nose presents notes of vanilla and oak. On the palate is an explosion of red fruits and minerality supported by a very round structure. The tannins are mature and present a long finish with hints of blonde tobacco. This wine can be decanted and enjoyed now, or it can be placed in your cellar. Rated 90+

Critical Acclaim:

94 Points: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Dakota is a slightly softer, but still structured, meaty effort with impressive levels of black cherries, black currants and a steely, crushed rock-like minerality. Like its sibling, it is full-bodied, tannic and deep, but with less of the burning ember/scorched earth character. It offers pure floral, concentrated fruit and beautiful purity, symmetry and balance. Nevertheless, it, too, will benefit from 3-4 years of cellaring and should drink well over the following three decades." - Wine Advocate

Ancient Peaks 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles

According to Tasting Panel Magazine - LONG AND FOCUSED…Soft, ripe and juicy with plum, berries and herbs.

According to Connoisseurs Guide - Chocolate, toasty spice and an interesting suggestion of smoke are backed up by enough black cherry fruit to keep this bottling within fairly broad varietal lines, and its fruit manages to keep pace in the vaguely leathery, slightly astringent flavors that ensue. The wine, while not hugely tannic, does tend to get a bit dry at the finish, yet, in this era of rising Cabernet prices, this one offer a lot to like for the money. Good Value!

According to Wine Enthusiast - Smoke, plum jelly and a touch of violet form the aromas for this offering. The tannins are nicely thick, with prominent flavor profile of unsweetened blackberry jam. This meaty wine will improve with a bit more time in the bottle, so hold off until 2016.

Tasting Notes - The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with generous aromas of black fruit, toasty oak, caramel and cedar. The palate is elegantly layered with flavors of plum, cherry and blackberry, followed by trailing notes of black olive and cocoa. Fine tannins linger on a juicy, structured finish. Cabernet Sauvignon 76%, Syrah 16%, Zinfandel 4%, Petit Verdot 2%, Cabernet Franc 1%, Malbec 1%. 13.3% ABV.

Anderson's Conn Valley 2011 Estate Reserve Cabernet Napa Valley

AG 95+ Pts - According to Antonio Galloni - As good as the 2010 is, the 2011 isn't too far behind. Vibrant, layered and beautifully textured, the 2011 impresses for its energy. Dark cherry, plum, graphite, menthol, tar and licorice all jump from the glass in a powerful, structured wine endowed with serious density. The tannins are naturally quite youthful, but they should begin to soften with time. Todd Anderson and his team have done a magnificent job with the Estate Reserve.

According to Robert Parker - The open-knit 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve exhibits cassis, plum and ripe cherry fruit notes, soft tannins, and an elegant, lush, fruity style without the structure of the 2010. Medium-bodied with 14.6% alcohol as well as plenty of near-term appeal, it is a successful effort in this tough vintage. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.

Tasting Notes - Dense purple with a reddish-purple edge. Red and black currents, violets and other perfumed flowers, all anchored by fantastic loamy earth and concentrated minerals. Medium to full bodied mouth feel with full mouth aftertaste. Powerful concentrated dark berry fruits are elevated by brighter red fruits but then are counterbalanced by earth, leather and graphite like minerals. The fruit and earth components are so tightly woven that once you grasped one element, the wine moves into another. Rated 90+

WA 89 Pts - According to Robert Parker - Cut from the same cloth in terms of its silkiness and opulence is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was also aged in equal parts neutral tanks and oak for seven months. It exhibits lots of plump black currant fruit interwoven with licorice, cedarwood, tobacco leaf and spice box. Round, generous and medium to full-bodied without a hard edge to be found, it should drink nicely for 3-4 years.

Tasting Notes - The Angulo Innocenti Cabernet Sauvignon shows that Mendoza and in particular La Consulta is not only about Malbec. Antica 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Townsend Vineyard Napa Valley

WE 94 WA 93+ Pts - According to Robert Parker - More statuesque and compelling is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Townsend Vineyard. Initially restrained, this dense ruby/purple-colored wine offers up notes of forest floor, blackberries and cassis along with a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel and attractive elegance and purity. Multilayered with sweet tannin, it should age nicely for 15+ years.

According to Wine Enthusiast -Doesn't say so on the label, but this is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Atlas Peak area. Very dry and tannic, with an astringent lockdown, it's functionally undrinkable now, but it does show the intensity of this mountainous region for Cabernet, with explosive blackberry, blueberry and black currant flavors. All indications are that it's an ager. Hold until 2015, at the very least.

Winemakers Notes - Set high on the ridge overlooking Rector Canyon and Napa Valley some 1600 feet below, this 24-acre vineyard is planted on a westfacing slope of well-drained, volcanic soils. Townsend Vineyard's architecture is based on Antinori’s planting philosophy for newvineyards in Tuscany. High density vine spacing ensures low production of fruit per vine. Vine rows are aligned from east to west to achieve ideal sun exposure. Vines are trained low to the ground to take advantage of radiant heat from the volcanic rock and soils. Finally, the ideal rootstock and clones of Cabernet Sauvignon were chosen to complement Townsend's terroir ensuring the best fruit expression. Only 22% of the grapes from this vineyard were selected for Townsend Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Rated 90+

WA (91-93) Pts - According to Wine Advocate - The estate’s 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon wraps around the palate with lovely depth in its expressive, resonant fruit, showing no hard edges and excellent balance. Antinori 2009 Antica Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

WA 92 IWC 90 Pts - According to Wine Advocate - The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon comes across as a bit more reticent and inward next to the superb 2008, but it, too, is a gorgeous wine. Dark red fruit, licorice, smoke and tar are some of the nuances that flow from this layered, gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2009 was bottled just two months ago. It will almost certainly be even better in a few years’ time. A mid-weight, gracious wine, the 2009 should drink well to age 20 or so. In 2009 the blend includes 1.5% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029.

According to International Wine Cellar - Bright red-ruby. Tight nose hints at cassis and licorice. Intensely flavored and high-pitched, with strong acidity and floral lift to the youthfully medicinal flavors. Densely packed, energetic wine but clenched today. Finishes with firm tannins and a lightly herbal quality. Antica is short for Antinori California.

Tasting Notes - The Antica Napa Valley 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon offers delicious purity of fruit with enticing violet and fresh berry scents of blueberry, blackberry and red currant. The wine is full-bodied, yet graceful and supple, ending with a long, pure, and persistent finish. Rated 90+

Antucura 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Mendoza

According to International Wine Cellar - Good deep red. Musky aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, fresh herbs and tobacco leaf. Sweet, gentle and fat with fruit; more open-knit in the middle than the malbec. Then tightens up on the back end, finishing with a more classic dryness.

According to Wine Advocate - The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from Vista Flores and has good freshness, clean varietal aromas and a polished palate with pungent acidity, succulence, with good length. A very good unoaked Cabernet at a very good price. Drink 2014-2016.

Winemakers Notes - Thanks to a natural thinning of the vineyard produced by low temperatures during the flowering season, fruits reached sweet and round tannins in harvest time providing a defined structure, fleshy, with a typical characteristic of the variety, capping a wine-colored intense, spicy aroma and delicate floral notes. 14.8% ABV.

Arboleda 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Chile

W&S 90pts. - According to Wine & Spirits: The quality of the 2007 vintage shines through the wine's generous, ripe flavors, all blue fruit and robust tannins that need time in bottle to meld. A cabernet for slow-cooked meats. Arietta 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

IWC (91-93) WA 88 Pts - According to Stephen Tanzer - Deep ruby-red. Aromatic nose features cassis, licorice, bitter chocolate and spices. Lush, rich and stuffed with fruit, but with underlying minerality and harmonious acidity giving life to the middle palate. Intriguing floral and dried sage notes add complexity. A solidly built midweight with some youthfully firm tannins that reach the front teeth. The 2006 may have more tannins and sheer size but this wine is also in need of patience.

According to Robert Parker - The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is very Bordeaux-like, but somewhat austere and overly tannic at this stage. The impressive minerality and sweet black currant and cherry fruit are there, but the wine comes across as slightly hard and tough. I am not sure this one will flesh out as much as one would hope, but it has potential. Give it 3-4 years of bottle age and drink it over the following 15. Rated 90+
