WA 94 Vinous 93+ Pts - According to Robert Parker - The deep ruby/purple-colored 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Georges de Latour is BV’s flagship wine. It boasts sweet notes of charcoal, burning embers, vanillin, tar and copious quantities of blackcurrant fruit. In keeping with this generously endowed vintage, the wine is supple, full-bodied, multidimensional and opulent. It will drink beautifully young and last for 20-25 years.
According to Antonio Galloni - The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve is a bit subdued today and in need of further time in bottle to fully come around. Still, at this stage, the 2012 Private Reserve comes across as relatively delicate and understated. My sense is that the wine is still holding back much of its potential, but we will see. There is lovely depth to the dark stone fruit flavors, along with good vintage 2012 radiance. Hints of plum, mocha, licorice and rose petal add the closing shades of nuance. 15.2% ABV.
