  • Melville Syrah 2014
Estate Syrah Sta. Rita Hills from Central Coast, California. Winemaker's Notes: "Deep garnet in color, notes of violets, duck plum sauce and cocoa powder come forward initially. On the palate, intriguing components of boysenberry liqueur, salted caramel and vanilla bean mingle with savory hints of morel mushrooms, beef carpaccio and all spice. The mouthfeel is tender, with an elegant streak of fresh acidity that frames the wine’s lengthy and vibrant finish."

  • La Sirena Art Bus-Syrah Cabernet Blend (Barrett Vineyards) 2012
91 pts. Antonio Galloni: The 2012 presented us with a fantastic vintage and the right grapes to again make this wonderful Art Bus blend. This is the third release of this unique wine (08, 09, and 12). The aromas are open, deep, rich, and enticing of black cherry and red plums, with notes of bacon, cinnamon, cedar, and smoked wild meats. In the mouth the flavors are bursting with ripe fruit, crushed blackberry, deep meaty tones, and a touch of sweet toasty French oak. Flavors persist several minutes. This is a big, intense, mouth coating wine. I love the layered flavors, mid palate texture and silky yet big balance of this blend. It’s unusual but delicious! Have some fun with this one as few will be able to guess the blend. While tasty now, this is a wine that is also cellar-worthy, easily 10-15 years from this noteworthy vintage.

  • K Vintners Syrah Milbrandt Vineyard 2014
94 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate - “Probably the greatest vintage of this cuvee to date, the 2014 Syrah Milbrandt Vineyard is 100% Syrah, fermented with 100% whole clusters, that spent 15 months in 20% new French oak barrels and puncheons. This beauty is overflowing with notes of cassis, caramelized meats, licorice and spice, which gives way to a full-bodied, concentrated, superbly textured Syrah that can be enjoyed today, or cellared for a decade.

Its location on a sloping hillside in the center of the 16-mile long appellation offers a true representation of the Santa Lucia Highlands: Alluvial soils with a lot of fog and wind in the summer.
