Vineyards: Grown in well exposed stony, calcareous and clay soils with basalt outcrops in vineyards within the province of Verona, in the region of the Veneto.
Wine making: Made in the traditional “appassimento” style. The grapes are partially dried before fermentation, resulting in greater concentration, richness, and elegance in the wine.
Tasting Notes Color: Deep ruby red in color. Bouquet: Aromas of raspberry and currant with a hint of vanilla. Taste: Smooth and balanced on the palate with velvety tannins.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with pasta, grilled and roasted meats, game and cheeses.
Winemaker's Notes: The vineyard surrounds Villa della Torre, a splendid masterpiece of Renaissance architecture now owned by the family, and produces a full-bodied red wine with aging potential of at least ten years. The blend is the historic combination of Corvina and Rondinella with the addition of a small quantity of Sangiovese. A small percentage of the harvested grapes are left to dry out until December, then added to the previously vinified fresh grapes. The result is a velvety, well-balanced red wine that offers profound, mature fruit. Blend: 70% Corvina Veronese, 25% Rondinella, 5% Sangiovese
