WS 89 Pts - According to Wine Spectator - "This has good guts, with a solid graphite spine supporting the plum sauce, currant paste and fig notes. A touch chunky and toasty in the end, holding plenty of fresh acidity in reserve. This should settle down soon enough. Best from 2015 through 2018."
According to Robert Parker - "Another Cru Bourgeois that generally performs above its pedigree, this blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot offers a dark ruby/plum color as well as sweet red and black currant fruit intermixed with notes of licorice and spice box. Charming and round with elegance, weight and power, it can be consumed over the next 4-5 years."
Winemakers Notes - "Like the 2010 vintage, Chateau du Retout 2011 has a high proportion of cabernet sauvignon. The color is red purple. The nose offer sherry and currant aromas with florals notes supported by a fine toasted wood. In the mouth, there is a lot of charm and purity, it's rich with a good length, and tannins are fine and coated. We could sum up the Chateau du Retout 2011 by two words - purity and finesse." 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. 14% ABV.
