WS 90 Vinous 90+ Pts - According to Wine Spectator - "Peppery tannins drape a light blanket over a ripe core of plum and guava fruit, coming together harmoniously with hints of rose petal and smoke on the finish. Best from 2016 through 2020."
According to Stephen Tanzer - "Bright, medium red-ruby. Expressive aromas of cassis, black cherry, licorice, tobacco, menthol, dusty herbs and mocha are complemented by sweet oak scents. Supple and creamy in the middle but with a slight warmth to the dark raspberry, licorice and mocha flavors. Turns a bit medicinal and dusty on the back end. I find the 2011 version deeper and more suave."
According to Wine Advocate - "The 2012 Merlot Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyard, which has 10% of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, is a fruit-forward, plump, earthy, medium-bodied red that gives up notions of black cherries, spice, earth and hints of truffle. It saw 16 months in 54% new French and American oak and should drink nicely for 3-4 years."
According to Wine Enthusiast - "This 100% varietal wine offers aromas of fresh-ground coffee, chocolate, herbs and plum along with barrel accents. It’s soft in feel with an elegant styling, trailing toward the finish." 14.5% ABV.
