WS 90 Pts - According to Wine Spectator - "A smoky, slightly earthy style, with mint and tobacco notes guiding the core of steeped plum and black currant fruit. Hints of bay and charcoal skitter through the finish. Shows solid length and definition. For the old-school crowd. Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2017."
According to Wine Advocate - "The 2009 Constantia Glen Five is a blend 40% Petit Verdot, 25% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, 15% Malbec and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon that is matured for 18 months in entirely in new French oak from several coopers. It has quite an intense bouquet with ripe blackberry and raspberry fruit, interlaced with cedar and mint, the oak just needing to be dialed down a tad. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a good level of acidity......." 40% Petit Verdot, 25% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, 15% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. 14.5% ABV.
