Gold Medal & 92 Points Beverage Testing Institute, 2008 - Most ultra-premium vodkas are filtered three to five times. Crater Lake Vodka is slowly filtered 10 times through charcoal and crushed volcanic rock and then aged briefly in oak. This technique is long and painstaking but makes Crater Lake Vodka one of the smoothest vodkas in the world with it a soft, spring water feel that hints slightly of vanilla.
This is a great vodka. My vodka of choice is Ketel One and Crater Lake rivals it. I;ve tried other American vodkas and haven't tasted anything that comes close to a European vodka until now. I recommend this vodka to anyone who can get it. Outside of Oregon it is hard to find (I have my in-laws bring it when they visit us in CT) but thanks to NapaCabs the rest of us can indulge in this really really great American made vodka.
