Full body with wonderfully polished tannins that are silky and beautiful. About 13 months in wood and 30% new. A blend of syrah, carmenere, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, mourvedre, and malbec. Organic wine."
According to Wine Spectator - "A suave red, with an intense juiciness to the raspberry, cherry and ripe tangerine flavors. Fresh acidity gives this good lift. The creamy finish is supported by medium-grained tannins. Syrah, Carmenère, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre and Malbec."
According to Wine Advocate - "The 2011 Coyam is a blend of 38% Syrah, 31% Carmenere, 19% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest equal parts Mourvedre (Monastrell), Malbec and Petit Verdot from the Los Robles estate in Colchagua. “Coyam” is the old word for oak forest (los robles), the name of the vineyard where the fruit is grown. The 2011 has a ripe, peachy, cherry and smoke nose, with hints of cured meats. We also tasted the 2010, 2007 and 2001 versions of this wine, all cool vintages, but the blend has been changing from eminently Bordeaux to a predominance of Syrah plus Carmenere (and the Merlot has disappeared). This has resulted in a juicier, meatier wine, with chewy tannins. This is a powerful red blend, very well crafted, slightly international-styled."
According to Wine Enthusiast - "Floral, lightly herbal red-fruit aromas introduce a concentrated palate with firm but not overpowering tannins and plenty of depth. Flavors of earthy, roasted berry and plum finish spicy, with notes of chocolate and olive. This is a six-grape blend led by Syrah and Carmenère, and it’s fully Chilean in its nose and flavor profile."
According to Wine & Spirits - "Give this time in the glass and its oak notes begin to diminish as the ripe black fruit gains prominence. This is biodynamically grown, a luscious blend of syrah, carmenère, merlot and cabernet, with hints of mourvedre and malbec, a warm red perfect for meats slow roasted over a campfire on a cool summer night." 14.6% ABV.
