According to Robert Parker - The 2012 Proprietary Red Siena is a screwcap-finished bottling made from lots of Sangiovese, Malbec, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is an attractive, commercial, soft, fruity red revealing notes of berries, spice box, damp underbrush, forest floor, red cherries and darker currants. Although not complex, it is savory, round, and best drunk over the next 5-6 years.
Tasting Notes - SIENA has delicious aromas of strawberry jam, plum, blackberry and mocha. Bing cherry flavors are enhanced by sweet oak notes of vanilla, cinnamon and spice that add layers of richness to this elegant wine. SIENA has tannins that are soft, harmonious and mouth coating with lovely viscosity, depth and a lingering finish.
SIENA pairs perfectly with savory Italian food, pasta with flavorful tomato sauces or pizza. SIENA is also delicious with dishes such as Chicken Cacciatore, a duck salad with fruit, like raspberries and oranges, or simply prosciutto on crostini bread. 14.5% ABV.
