James Suckling Review
A big and rich red with plum and berry character. Lots of blueberries, too. Full and velvety. Flavorful finish. Polished yet flavorful nero d'avola. Drink now but better in two years or so.
Wine Advocate Review
From the Noto area of southern Sicily, the 2014 Sicilia Saia is a pure expression of Nero d'Avola that reflects some of the characteristics of the limestone soils found in the area. There is a faint mineral vein that runs through this wine. It pulls together the various elements of ripe fruit and spice. Despite the opulence and the grandeur of the wine, it also shows an elegant side that comes in large part thanks to that mineral definition. This wine is exceptionally well balanced and beautiful in this classic vintage. Drink 2016-2024.
Wine Tasting Notes
Bright, intense ruby red color, with alternating sensations of mature fruit and sweet, elegant notes of spice. Explosive flavor and full body, yet very fresh, bursting with charisma.
