Product Description

JS 93 WS 92 Vinous 90 Pts - According to James Suckling - "Aromas of dried tangerines and plums with hints of flowers. Full body with ultra-fine tannins and a delicious balsamic, dark-fruit and plum character. Savory and delicious. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold."

According to Wine Spectator - "Reinforced by beefy tannins, this black cherry- and plum-filled version offers floral and spice accents. In a modern, fruity style, yet not oaky, this stays lively and persistent through the long aftertaste. Best from 2016 through 2027. According to Antonio Galloni - Dark red cherry, stone fruits, smoke, tobacco and cloves meld together in the 2011 Chianti Classico. Rich, ample and broad on the palate, the 2011 captures the ripeness of the year, yet still retains a good measure of freshness. Unlike most vintages, the 2011 will drink well pretty much right out of the gate. The style is dark, brooding and imposing."

According to International Wine Cellar - "Bright red. Fleshier and more fruit-driven than the 2010 Chianti Classico, offering aromas and flavors of raspberry, ripe red cherry and candied violet. Tangy and nicely focused, displaying a silky texture and slow-building sweetness. Closes with good energy and very pretty floral traces. Perhaps not exactly the last word in concentration or depth but fun to drink, so I'll be generous." 14.5% ABV.

    CHIANTI ASCENDING

I first had the 2011 Fontodi at a great restaurant (Rustico) in Westlake, CA. I immediately went online when I got home to see where I could get more. napacabs came through with a very appealing 3-pack for under $30 a bottle. This wine soars and makes your whole meal glow. Elegant, soft, complex--this is a hard wine to put down and an easy wine to savor. Shouldn't a wine be good enough to make us levitate each time we pour? This one is and does. Get it fast, it also has wings!
