WE 91 WA 90 W&S 90 Pts - According to Wine Enthusiast - Coppola has swung for the fences and cleared them with this charming Zinfandel, blended with 20% Petite Sirah. Brown sugar, clove and nutmeg give warmth and depth to the juicy red and black berry flavors. Succulent and supple, the finish completes the picture, adding a sprinkling of black pepper to the mix.
According to Robert Parker - More interesting, juicy and seductive is the 2012 Zinfandel Director’s Cut. Its healthy dark ruby color is followed by attractive briary, raspberry and black cherry fruit, medium to full body, no hard edges and a luscious, supple mouthfeel and finish. A pretty, tasty red that delivers the goods, it can be enjoyed over the next 3-4 years.
According to Wine & Spirits - Dark fruit and bright acidity give this zin an appetizing frankness, the fruit intersecting with savory aromas of paprika and cracked peppercorn. It’s juicy and already accessible, yet firm in the end, ready to drink at cellar temperature with grilled bratwurst.
According to Wine Spectator - Aromas of raspberry and Christmas spices lead to zesty cherry and herb flavors. Drink now through 2018.

Winemakers Notes - One of the things that make this Zinfandel unique is the liberal amount of Petite Sirah added to the blend to enhance structure and complexity. We used a combination of French and American oak, favoring an American cooper that imparts a nice mocha-espresso nuance that blends well with our wine.
The 2012 Director’s Cut Zinfandel delivers ample body and a velvety palate with a bouquet of blackberries, raspberries, clove and pepper followed by succulent flavors of cherries, mixed berries and mocha. 14.5% ABV.
