WE 90 W&S 90 Pts - According to Wine Enthusiast - Bouncing in acidity, this crisp white offers nuttiness around a core of melon rind, citrus and herb. Despite the relatively low alcohol, it offers enough weight on the palate to be companionable to appetizers laced with seafood, goat cheese and feta, or easily enjoyed on its own.
According to Wine & Spirits - Reduced at first, its citrus fruit tamped down by a green onion edge, this opens with air toward toasty lees and luscious pineapple-orange flavors. The precise acidity allows the wine to feel clean and rich at once, ending savory.
Winemakers Notes - With adequate rainfall early in the season but moderate and dry conditions throughout most of the flowering and ripening phases, the 2013 Sauvignon blanc seemed to exhibit a certain urgency to develop flavor and physiological ripeness as soon as possible. The result seems to be all the bright and balanced flavors found normally in a Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc, but with more weight and depth across the palate. We always think of food when we think of Sauvignon Blanc but particularly this year, I’m thinking I may just enjoy a glass all on its own! 100% Sauvignon Blanc. 12.4% ABV.
