According to International Wine Cellar - Vivid ruby-red. Wilder and deeper in pitch than the 2011 version, displaying powerful black raspberry and boysenberry scents and smoky floral and herbal nuances. Juicy acidity adds lift and structure to the ripe, subtly spicy dark berry flavors. The finish features chewy tannins, an echo of candied flowers and very good persistence.
Tasting Notes - As with most 2012’s it shows darker, richer, more obvious fruit. An intoxicating aroma of ripe berries mixed with stone fruit, a bit of red licorice and a faint hint of shitake mushroom lead to a lush mouth with enough acidity to keep it bright and fresh. While the 2011 won wine drinkers over with its almost laser like focus, the 2012 will seduce with its lush texture and restrained yet rich fruit. 14.1% ABV.
