A little bit of Awesome!
The wine industry thrives on passion...lots of passion...thinking outside the box, and damn good wine.
NapaCabs.com was born in 2004 when Tom DeGrezia, Owner, had a few cases of damn good Napa Valley Cabernet and an idea. Did I mention Tom was born in Italy? Those pazzi Italianos are born with passion. So, he definently wasn't lacking in that area. He originally started selling, packaging, and shipping bottles out of his home. The orders kept coming in.
Twelve years later NapaCabs now offers a selection of fine wines and spirits from all over the world. Our inventory has grown from a few cases of wine stacked in Tom's garage to a large warehouse located in Chino, Ca.
Our wine purchasing is done by folks who have their stuff together. Sommeliers, Restauranteurs, and Wine Aficionados. Below you will find some of our newest arrivals, highly rated wines, and stuff we think is just...pretty damn good. Cheeers!
We have a Point, 90+ Points
95 Pts. Robert Parker - "I think the most approachable in the lineup, the 2012 Bel Canto has a complex, perfumed style in its dried flowers, dried spices, vanilla and black cherry and black raspberry-like fruit profile. A blend of 84% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot that spent 20 months in 50% new French oak, it's full-bodied, concentrated and structured on the palate, yet has perfect balance and a great texture. Few in the US are doing Cabernet Franc better this, and I suspect it will hold nicely for 15-20 years." (94 Pts. WE)
Antonio Galloni 95 Pts. - The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is one of the most exotic, flamboyant young wines I have ever tasted from Randy and Mike Dunn. Graphite, cherry liqueur, smoke, licorice, plums and crème de cassis, open up in an alluring Cabernet Sauvignon that melds together ripeness and structure. The fruit is distinctly red-toned in 2012, with fewer of the darker notes that are often present in the Howell Cabernet. Pliant and expressive, but with plenty of underlying tannin, the 2012 is shaping up to be a beauty.
93 Pts. Robert Parker 65% Cabernet Sauvignon 27% Merlot 7% Cabernet Franc 1% Petit Verdot. Perfect pairing with roasted chicken, rack of lamb, light cuts of pork. The Claret is styled after great Bordeaux Cabernet Sauvignon blends. This wine is balanced and structured. The nose is floral, with ripe raspberry, licorice, black pepper, and tea notes. On the palate this wine is full and rich, with bright notes of rosemary, thyme, and blackberry with spice notes of cocoa and coffee. With a generous mid palate and an evolved and lingering finish with silky tannins, this powerful and refined wine is drinking beautifully now, and will age gracefully for the next 15 plus years.
WA 94 points - Not you're supermarket Gallo. The grapes for the 2009 Gallo Estate Cabernet Sauvignon were hand harvested, hand sorted, destemmed and cold soaked for two days to maximize the extraction of vivid color and flavor.
This wine is complex with sweet aromatics and dense, chewy tannins. The palate reveals black and blue jammy fruit, underscored by hints of spice. This wine will continue to develop complex layers of flavor with up to ten years of cellar aging.
Vinous 90 pts - M5 is a Chateauneuf-du-Pape style blend using five grape varieties from the highest quality vineyards in Santa Barbara County. The "M" is for Margerum and "5" for the five grapes we use: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Counoise, and Cinsault. M5 is always all about Grenache and, as it is every year, the trick is to balance the crimson, aromatic, lean, bright, tight Grenache, Counoise, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault based components with the bombastic, dark, black, plum, tannic, bold, intense ripe, full-bodied Syrah we make.
90 Pts Robert Parker The Wine Advocate - "The 2008 Terre di San Leonardo is a gorgeous wine. Dark cherries, plums, herbs, leather, spices and minerals are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass. Floral notes add lift and perfume on the finish. This is a fabulous wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018."
WA 93 Points - After two challenging growing seasons, 2012 came like a gift from above. Very little rain, mild to warm temperatures, and a long, temperate Indian summer, made for fully developed fruit and plenty of density with a muscular - yet streamlined - build. We were able to thoughtfully harvest the fruit from our small vineyard over the course of nearly six weeks. The resulting wines are soft, rich and seamless, with each of our four varieties singing in perfect harmony.
JS 95 Pts - Winemaker Notes - The beautifully refined fruit is stacked generously on the mountain fruit's tell-tale foundation of robust tannins and its unobtrusive caramel oak presence. Gorgeous wine. Why wait? But will age incredibly well.
91 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark, fleshy and seductive, but also light on its feet and gracious. Black cherry, plum, rose petal, smoke, tobacco, licorice and cedar are some of the signatures. Classic and medium in body, this tasty Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon will drink well with minimal cellaring. Because of its mid-weight structure, Montelena's Cabernet is one of the more approachable wines of the vintage, not to mention a real beauty.
Vinous 92 Pts. - Immediately seductive, a complex nose expresses aromas of Bing cherry and boysenberry, followed closely by distinctive and captivating notes of minerality, cola and lavender. The palate is seamless from start to finish, beginning with a bright and silky entry that transitions to an ample core of dark cherry and wild blackberry. An elegant and lasting finish lingers with traces of dark chocolate and earth.
WS 93 Points "Plum, blood orange, black olive, toast and mineral notes mingle in this tight, bright red. Juicy acidity keeps this lively, while firm tannins impart focus. Drink now through 2025"- Wine Spectato
WE 93 Pts. - "Offers intriguing asphalt, black pepper, boysenberry and a tiny bit of barnyard funk on the nose. It's dark and brooding, with flavors of black pepper, leather and black fruits on the palate, but rather light and lean in texture, with a solid amount of tannic grip."
Have you met the Dumetz?
Sonja Magdevski, owner and winemaker at Casa Dumetz, was a journalist by training and now a wine maker by passion. Sonja believes that the two professions aren't so different, "The story is in the grapes, the harvest, the season and the resources allotted for each year." Casa Dumetz tells the story of what hard work, passion and, of course, premium fruit can create. Their wines are vibrant, balanced and approachable. The simple and colorful label, evoke a sense of happy youthful ness. Enjoy this stand-out and affordable wine on any occasion.
This Viognier exhibits elegant characteristics of a Rhone varietal caressed by Santa Barbara County sunshine. This is a full-bodied wine - buxom and full of swagger. Smooth, balanced and robust. Grape source: Santa Ynez Valley AVA. Only 330 cases produced.
Daffodils, magnolia, licorice and creamsicles. A gentle minerality lifts the mid palate. This Roussanne is at treasure made to linger over and over again. Grape source: La Presa Vineyard, Santa Ynez Valley AVA. Only 220 cases produced.

Beerenauslese (pronounced BEAR-en OWS-lay-zuh) means "berry selection" in German. It is an intense, ultra-concentrated dessert wine made from hand-selected grapes that have been shriveled about halfway to raisins by botrytis (the "Noble Rot"). BA has the same minimum must weight as Eiswein, so they have about the same sweetness. But BA has the distinct honeyed character that comes from botrytis, giving the wines a more complex aroma and a lusher texture.
Adam Webb and Mike Kuenz started their company to produce wines from varietals that they are truly passionate about. They took their inspiration from wines from the south of France and the Iberian Peninsula, with a goal is to make wines in small lots from unique vineyard sites around California, letting the fruit and the vineyard speak for themselves. Displays a vibrant, lovely pale peach color, full of finesse and complexity, yet simply pure and refreshing. Inviting aromas of stone fruits, white flowers, delicate red berries and grapefruit. Light to medium bodied in weight with a soft, rounded silky texture. The flavors are bright and focused, the stone fruit, berry and grapefruit are complemented by hints of mineral. The zesty acidity carries the flavors to a crisp, lively and mouthwatering finish. 50% Cinsault 25% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 10% Carignane.
NC 97 Pts -NapaCabs is proud to present this 20 year old Spatlese riesling from Berres's own Treasure Chamber. A truly one of a kind experience. Tasting Notes: under ripe nectarine, under ripe peach, honey, petrol. Finishing with a brilliant flash acidity. Everyone loves an Italian
100% Coretese. The agricultural estate of Ernesto Picollo is located at Rovereto di Gavi, one of the most prestigious parts of the Gavi appellation in eastern Piedmont. Lorenzo Picollo oversees the estate, which produces several Gavi crus. The palate is generous in fruit flavour and fills the palate with rich, luscious, tropical notes. The taste is persistent and the length long.
Chianti Montalbano reserve is produced only in good vintages from a careful selection of Sangiovese grapes that best show. It's harmony and good structure is a great pairing with grilled meats, game and aged cheese.
91 Pts. -Stephen Tanzer - 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon; aged in about 40% new oak: Bright, dark red-ruby. Lively red cherry and floral aromas are accented by cedar and herbs. Dense and suave, with red fruit and graphite flavors nicely supported by polished tannins. The long finish shows a flinty element and nicely integrated oak. Though it's not designated as a single-vineyard wine, Emiliano Falsini, one of Italy's top young consulting winemakers, told me that this Riserva is always made from the same parcel of 35-year-old vines.
100% Glera. Persistent and harmonious. Fresh and inviting. Warm straw yellow color, with brilliant and subtle mousse. Fine and persistent. Floral, delicate, with hints of golden apple, pear, peach and cedar nuances. The taste is strong and fruity with good tannic-acid balance. Persistent and harmonious.
Wine Advocate 92 Points - "...represents an impressive achievement. Grapes are sourced from vineyards between 450 and 750 meters above sea level and the wine is aged in mostly neutral oak (with 20% new oak) for one year. The high altitude vineyards have shaped the focused and linear aromas of wild berry and dried cherry. The wood regime has added delicate layers of carob seed and powdered chocolate. This is a very exciting vintage of Lamuri, thanks to its overall balance and intensity.
James Suckling 97 Points. - Wine Advocate 94 Points - "The 2012 Bolgheri Superiore Ornellaia is very similar to the 2011 Ornellaia that precedes it. These were both hot vintages, but 2012 saw the heat towards the end of the growing season. In fact the harvest in 2012 came two weeks earlier than average. This seamless blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (56%), Merlot (27%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Petit Verdot (7%) shows some of the roundness and softness of that summer heat. The wine's density and extraction are spot-on and the bouquet is beautifully shaped by dark cherry nuances with spice, leather and tobacco at the back. There is a gorgeous sense of richness and plushness here. Some 160,000 bottles were produced. This edition of Ornellaia is more immediate in character and less suited to the decades-long aging that cooler vintages can affront so successfully. "
60% Corvina, 20% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella. This is a very classically-styled Ripasso. Brillant ruby red; scents of ripe blackberry, clove, tobacco, and liquorice; full-flavored palate, velvety, crisp, and refreshing. The wine is aged in oak and this process had imparted background tones of vanilla and toasted nut.
This seductive, robust red blend reaches new heights for artisan wine making. The grapes are all grown on BWise Vineyards in Sonoma Valley's new AVA, Moon Mountain District, and Muscardini is lucky enough to be the only winery BWise sells their fruit to. Rich aromas of dark cherry, espresso, pipe tobacco, cigar box, leather and bittersweet cocoa. Concentrated flavors of ripe blackberry, blueberry, pepper, cocoa and a hint of spice. A velvety texture and a long elegant finish. Only 245 Cases produced.
Winemaker's Notes: Blackberry liqueur, blueberries, hints of black currants and dried herbs intertwine into one harmonious wine. The silky texture, fresh acidity and long lingering finish leave a staining impression across the palate. This is a beautiful showing of Cabernet Sauvignon in a truly magnificent vintage.

Ooh La La: New Frenchies
At first, the Chateauneuf du Pape estate of Domaine Cristia owned two hectares of Grenache vines in the Southern Rhone Valley. Like many producers they sold their grapes in bulk to negociants. In 1999 they began to produce and bottle 100% of their production. The average age of the vines used varies in age between 50-100 years! Today Domaine Cristia sits on 13 hectares of vines in Chateauneuf du Pape. 12 hectares are reserved for producing red wine and 1 hectare is used for the production of white Chateauneuf du Pape wine. This 100% Grenache can be drunk young or kept for up to 10 years. Enjoy!

Glenmorangie Milsean (Scots Gaelic for 'sweet things' and pronounced 'meel-shawn') is a single malt whisky full of intense candied fruit flavours and mouth-watering sweetness. It has been created from Glenmorangie matured in ex-bourbon casks and then extra-matured in former wine casks, re-toasted for the purpose. This distinctive cask preparation replicates something of the moreish sweetshop flavours in a single malt whisky.
100% Garnacha. This wine is a steal! Garnacha vines are typically 50 years and older, harvested by hand and lightly extracted to retain aroma without excess astringency. Aged three months in used oak barrels, this garnacha has deep ruby red color with bright strawberry on the nose and a cherry-vanilla, raspberry preserve flavor that lingers on the long juicy finish.
