WE 91 Pts - According to Wine Enthusiast - Editor's Choice! - This is an impressive wine at the price and production level, a great go-to for multiple occasions. It delivers earthy, candied strawberry around a light, bright core, remaining soft and smooth in texture and intensity, finishing with a tease of milk chocolate.
According to Robert Parker - My favorite was the least expensive, the 2013 Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast, which is a 390,000-case cuvée of 100% Pinot Noir aged eight months in 21% new French oak. This wine shows plenty of rose petal and strawberry notes intermixed with root beer and earth. Medium-bodied, it has lovely, sweet tannin and plenty of currants and plums. Drink it over the next 1-2 years.
Tasting Notes - This special release offers up lively pie cherry aromas that mingle with alluring cocoa, allspice and black tea notes. Flavors of pomegranate combine with red plum and orange zest to deliver a well-balanced Sonoma Coast blend. Fine tannins and good concentration create a broad, supple mouthfeel that lingers well into the back palate. 13.5% ABV.
