Pinot Report Review
Moderate reddish purple hue in the glass. The aromas of fresh boysenberry, plum, spice and toasty oak draw you into the glass. Beautifully balanced and polished on the palate, with flavors of black raspberry, boysenberry and plum with a slight earthy undertone. The oak seasoning is complimentary, the tannins are proportional and the wine's juicy acidity makes for refreshing drinking. The intensely aromatic spiced plum on the very long finish is especially impressive. This wine truly reflects Santa Maria Valley terroir and is the best Pinot Noir I have ever had from this vineyard.
Wine Enthusiast Review
Veteran winemaker Lane Tanner teamed with Will Henry of the Henry Wine Group on this newer brand. This bottling shows scents of rose petals and earthy hibiscus as well as more brooding rooibos tea and plum aromas. The action-packed palate is subtly presented with flavors of iron, black plum, cranberry and clove.
Wine Tasting Notes
Produced from the 4 best barrels from Sierra Madre Vineyard in a truly outstanding vintage. Aromas of fresh boysenberry, plum and black raspberry on the nose. Beautifully balanced on the palate with plum, pomegranate, rhubarb and hibiscus notes, touched by a hint of mint and watermelon rind - followed by a long and undulating finish. A pinot Noir with great aging potential. Drink now through 2030 or beyond.
