AG 92 WA 91 Pts - According to Antonio Galloni - "Melville's 2013 Chardonnay Clone 76 Inox is all about crystalline purity. Smoke, slate, green pears, lemon and pastry notes start to take shape in the glass, but the 2013 remains a bit raw and not fully formed at this stage. Still, it is impossible to miss the wine's exceptional transparency and potential for the future. Readers should plan on giving the 2013 at least 6-12 months in bottle."
According to Wine Advocate - "The best vintage of the cuvee to date, Melville’s 2013 Chardonnay Clone 76 Inox comes all from the estate vineyard (Melville) and was aged 6 months in stainless steel barrels. It has classy citrus, white peach and clean minerality to go with a medium-bodied, rich and nicely textured feel on the palate. While I normally find this cuvee borderline too lean, I love the texture here. It should put on even more weight with another 6-12 months in bottle as well."
Tasting Notes - "Jade green hued with vivid and pristine aromatics of pineapple sorbet, honeydew and lemon drops coming through initially. In the background, oceanic notes of oyster shell, sea urchin and rock salt mingle with floral tones of jasmine, hibiscus and lime blossom. The wine is taut upfront with a chiseled, crystalline like presence giving way to an oily mid-palate and a bright, vibrant finish." 14% ABV.
