WA 94 Pts - According to Robert Parker - Newton’s 2012 Chardonnay Unfiltered exhibits lots of honeysuckle, tropical fruit and marmalade, good minerality and excellent acidity that buttresses and provides uplift to the full-bodied, lavish, extravagant nature of this Chardonnay. As this wine ages, it will undoubtedly take on more Burgundy, Bâtard-Montrachet-like characteristics, but it is hard to resist young (which I know from personal experience). Enjoy it over the next 6-10+ years.
Tasting Notes - The warm 2012 vintage resulted in a complex, rich and powerful chardonnay with aromas of jasmine, apricot, grapefruit and subtle spice. The palate is fresh with a creamy texture marked by notes of stonefruit, pear and roasted almonds which is complemented by a subtle soft acidity leading to a rich, long and intense finish. 100% Chardonnay.
