WA 92+ WS 92 IWC 90+ Pts - According to Wine Advocate - "A smoking blend of 60% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 16% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 19 months in mostly neutral (2-3+ year old barrels) French oak, the 2010 Red Willow Vineyard delivers stunning aromas and flavors of creme de cassis, spice box, creamy licorice, tobacco leaf and cedar to go with a big, up-front and richly textured palate feel. A big, full-bodied effort, it remains gorgeously balanced and elegant, with solid mid-palate depth and ripe, focusing tannin on the finish. It-s a beauty and should be even better in another handful of years and have 15+ years of longevity. Drink 2016-2025."
According to Wine Spectator - "Focused, with a firm underpinning of tannins to support the black olive- and licorice-accented cassis flavors, persisting on the deftly balanced finish. This has power and grace. Best from 2015 through 2020."
According to Stephen Tanzer - (14.5% alcohol; a blend of 60% merlot, 24% cabernet franc and 16% cabernet sauvignon; from a spot that David O'Reilly describes as much cooler than DuBrul; no new oak): "Good red-ruby. Inviting perfume of black- and redcurrant, mocha, coffee, chocolate and nutty oak. Densely packed, plush and sweet, showing an almost porty quality to the flavors of black raspberry, cassis and mocha. This fairly powerful wine will need a year or two to absorb its alcohol. The merlot here is typically austere, notes O'Reilly."
According to Wine Enthusiast - "This well-structured effort is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, and it bears nuances of herb and briar. There is a balanced mix of plum and black cherry flavors that are wreathed in smoke and coffee notes, which resolve into firm but smooth tannins." 14.1% ABV.
