Malbec (Mahl-bek) may have originated in France, but the grape’s current home undoubtedly resides in Argentina. A Malbec is medium to full-bodied with fruit flavors of plum, berry, and notes of earthiness amid ample tannins. Malbecs out of Argentina will tend to age better than those from France as well as have a softer flavor profile. Malbec pairs well with red meat.
