Pronounced “Bore-doe". Bordeaux blends usually refer to wines made in Bordeaux, France. There are no official rules as to what grapes may be put into a Bordeaux blend, but they most often contain Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes (including many others). Bordeaux blends aren’t determined by percentages or number of grapes, rather by opinion. The choice of the winemaker to name their wine a “Bordeaux Blend” is in the spirit of creating a complex and balanced wine!
