Carmenere

Carmenere

Pronounced “Car-men-nair”. Born in the Bordeaux Wine Region of France, this grape is a cousin of Malbec and a distant relative of Merlot. Although Carménère found its beginnings in France, the grape had a difficult time growing in the French climate, instead finding much more success in the valleys of Santiago, Chile. The flavors generally consist of raspberry, green bell pepper, plum, and vanilla.
