Grenache (Garnacha) is a grape originating from Aragon, in the northern region of Spain. It is known for being responsible for some of the most expensive and delightful wines in the world, and is comparable to Cabernet Sauvignon in terms of importance. Grenache found its way to France, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, and is now grown worldwide both in blends and as a single varietal. Grenache is one of the new 18 Noble Grape varieties, and is also known for the taste of candied fruit roll up and cinnamon.
