Malbec
“Mahl-behk”
Malbec is a popular plump and fruity wine that would not be nearly as famous if it weren’t for Argentina. Malbec originated from France as a blending grape in Bordeaux’s top 5 blending varietals. The grape had a poor resistance to weather and pests, and instead went on to do better in the climates of Argentina. In fact, Argentina grows over 75% of all the acres of Malbec in the world. Malbec is one of the new 18 noble wine grape varieties, with candied blueberry and blackberry flavors.
