Named "Top Value" on James Laube's Recommended California Cabernet's Issue
WA 90 WS 89 Pts - According to Robert Parker - The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Kith & Kin is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot and 5% Petite Sirah. This is another winner, and a great buy at $30. Deep ruby/purple, sweet crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, a nice, lush, fat palate and loads of glycerin make for a savory, hedonistic style of wine to drink over the next 5-7 years.
According to Wine Spectator - A simple yet pleasing offering of dried currant, licorice, graphite and light cedary oak, ending a bit simpler. Drink now through 2024.
Tasting Notes - This 2013 Kith & Kin is our boldest “Napa” Cabernet to date. Beautifully balanced, this Cabernet Sauvignon makes its intentions known with aromas of fresh red berries, complemented by subtle leather, floral notes, and sweet French oak. The sweet supple entry teases the mouth with bing cherry, plum, and rhubarb. Adding complexity, the palate rounds out into a creamy cherry pie a la mode with notes of violets, thyme, and nutmeg. A lingering full finish pleases the end palate, balanced by fresh acidity and earthy notes with caramel and cocoa. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 5% Petite Sirah. 14.8% ABV.
