VinoUS Media Review
The 2017 TD-9 is juicy, expressive and pliant, with soft edges that seem to push the fruit forward. Succulent and racy in style, the 2017 should drink well right out of the gate. Stylistically, the 2017 is a bit more lush and overt than the 2016 tasted alongside it. The blend is 63% Merlot, 22% Malbec and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. (Antonio Galloni)
TD-9 is a proprietary blend that celebrates a bold move. In 1973, in the space of a few months, John Shafer went from riding morning commuter trains in Chicago to teaching himself to drive a TD-9 tractor in our Napa Valley vineyard. He'd never grown grapes or made wine in his life. That spirit of risk-taking and adventure still guides Shafer today and inspired the creation of this new wine.
Wine Tasting Notes
This second vintage of TD-9 offers bright, energetic aromas and flavors of red plum, raspberry, strawberry, spice box, exotic fruit, and red licorice. The momentum of all this enticing fruit, along with ripe tannins, is carried through to a long, tantalizing, feast of a finish.
58% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Malbec
This is my go to wine for gatherings. Love it when the family comes around and it always surprises new guests.
this wine is deep and powerful. Dark berries and tannins balance well. Love sharing a glass with the wife.
