WE 90 WA 88+ W&S 88 Pts - According to Wine Enthusiast - Rounded by small amounts of Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot, this Cab is earthy and lean on entry, before developing in the glass into juicy dark cherry and leathery notes. Smooth, integrated oak and tannin leave an impression in terms of texture, with a persistence of tannin on the finish.
According to Robert Parker - "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is largely from Yountville. An elegant, more feminine-styled effort, it displays attractive black cherry and berry fruit intertwined with licorice, espresso and a touch of oak. Drink it over the next decade."
Winemakers Notes - "On the nose, the Stags' Leap Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon layers black fruit notes with aromas of cola, clove, coffee and black pepper. Taste it, and the flavors of blackberry, black cherry, anise, black tea and dark chocolate are revealed. Full bodied with an integrated tannin structure, this Cabernet offers hints of mineral which enhance the complex fruit through a long finish." 14.1% ABV.
