91 Pts. - Stephen Tanzer - 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon; aged in about 40% new oak: Bright, dark red-ruby. Lively red cherry and floral aromas are accented by cedar and herbs. Dense and suave, with red fruit and graphite flavors nicely supported by polished tannins. The long finish shows a flinty element and nicely integrated oak. Though it's not designated as a single-vineyard wine, Emiliano Falsini, one of Italy's top young consulting winemakers, told me that this Riserva is always made from the same parcel of 35-year-old vines.
