Other French White
French wines are some of the most renown in the world, having been the world leader in quality for centuries. France is the second largest wine producer in the world, producing between 7-8 billions bottles of wine per year, using over 200 indigenous grape varieties. France uses classification systems to distinguish between wines; 307 label names currently exist, being used depending on wine types, locations and quality levels. Due to the specific labelling structure of French wines, it’s not always immediately possible know the contents of a wine. French wine regions often use local or historical names as a way to identify the grape used in a wine. Although, even if the varietals in a wine are familiar, they may not necessarily taste familiar. This is due to climatic and regional differences in growing.
