Due east of Napa, tucked away in northern California's rolling Dunnigan Hills, is a little town called Zamora. But back in the late 1800's, folks around here used to call it Black's Station. At its height, this hub founded by J.J. Black boasted a hotel, two stores, a jail, blacksmith shops and a town hall. Today we grow our grapes in Zamora. We like to think that they carry with them the character and frontier-style of that old town.
Wine Tasting Notes
Vibrant fruit characters that explode from the glass are backed by hints of tobacco and chocolate aromas. The Black's Station Cabernet Sauvignon shows lovely flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, cassis and mocha. This classic Cabernet is elegant and smooth with a rich finish of sweet oak and cocoa.
Pair this easy drinking red with a big juicy burger, barbequed tri-tip or a pasta Bolognese.
Right up there with the best "daily drinkers". We keep it in a breather for a couple of hours before enjoying this cab with a rib eye. Don't know all the words to use. To us it compares with many $25 cabs. It isn't Conn Creek Anthology or Rombauer - just very good.
This Cabernet is vibrant and fruity and can handle big hearty meats, which is what I love to have with my wine.
I bought a bottle because, it's less than $10, 99 rated, and you only live once. I have no regrets thus far
This Cab is deep and rich and is worth far more than the price point. A real gem.
