This wine gets at Merlot's capacity to deliver both black and red berry fruit together in a way that keeps each distinct from the other. A firm structure and big grip has the fruit subdued at present, but as the oak folds in this will be beautiful. I would cellar at least five years before going in. Note: I tasted this blind, and am not surprised at all by my notes when considering the source.

From its tempting aromas of ripe cherry and black raspberry to its sweet, dusty tannins and supple texture, this a lush and expansive expression of Napa Valley Merlot. Luxurious flavors of black plum, rhubarb crumble and chocolate-covered raspberry mingle with hints of graphite and clove on the long, vibrant finish.
