Here is a testament to good-quality, California-appellated wines. This red blend opens with immediate aromas of fresh violets, plump black cherry, black currant, chocolate, tarragon, fennel and toasted wood. The palate mirrors those aromatics, but they jump with vivacity from the solid dose of acidity and generous alcohol. Firm tannic texture adds structural integrity, leading toward a fairly lengthy finish.

Gravity Red Blend is named for a remote, hard-to-reach block on our historic Monte Rosso Vineyard, where Petite Sirah vines cling to a steep slope on the edge of a canyon. Mount Peak Gravity California Red Blend opens with aromas of baked blueberry, freshly brewed coffee and dried apricot. The concentrated and multifaceted palate adds notes of acai berry, dark plum, cocoa powder and underpinnings of tar and cracked pepper. Lengthy and well-structured, supported by fine, but firm, tannins.
