Description
Wine Enthusiast Review Rated 92 EDITORS CHOICE This twist-top wine performs extremely well against much more expensive Bordeaux blends. Aromas of black cherry and toasted oak lead into a powerful palate of black currant, tobacco leaf and blackberry compote, with polished tannins and fine acidity carrying through the finish.
Wine Tasting Notes The Hayes Valley Central Coast Meritage is a true homage to the traditional blends that are crafted in the Bordeaux region of France. The Bordeaux region of France is well known for its cooler climate and often overcast and muggy summers. The Central Coast lends itself to a cooler climate and dreary foggy mornings. This gives the Bordeaux varietals a chance to develop much more intense and complex flavors that you won't find in a hotter climate style of blend. Flavors and aromas of mushroom and slate coupled with black fruits and a mild tannin structure, mimic the idealistic style that comes from one of the best wine grape growing regions in the world.
Color: Dark purple.
