Rated 92 Points
The 2016 Pinot Noir Panorama Vineyard was aged in 28% new French oak for 16 months. It has a pale to medium ruby color with scents of crushed cranberries, red and black cherries, rhubarb, warm earth, black tea leaves, rose petals, dried citrus peel and tree bark - a pretty interplay of ripe fruits and perfumed earthy character. Light to medium-bodied, it's elegant and silky textured in the mouth, with a sturdy frame of grainy tannins and great juicy freshness, finishing long and perfumed. Drink now-2026.
Wine Tasting Notes
The First Row Pinot Noir has strawberry and cherry aromas complimented by notes of toasted oak and vanilla. The spice, pepper and earth notes on the palate add depth and complexity. It is soft and rich on the palate leading to a juicy and delicious finish.
Notes from Winemaker Kris Kato
“Pinot expresses itself more than any other variety, in terms for being nuanced-driven,” Kris says. He loves working with Monterey fruit, including that from the winery's esteemed Panorama Vineyard. “I love to make small lots of wine from different parcels. It's incredible to be able to choose the most distinct wines from the vineyard and showcase their unique characteristics in different bottlings.”

How to Serve Liquor – Quick Tips
- Temperature Matters: Serve whiskey and bourbon at room temperature, vodka chilled, and tequila slightly cool to preserve aroma and balance.
- Choose the Right Glass: Use a rocks glass for whiskey, a flute or coupe for sparkling spirits, and a tulip or snifter for aged liquors.
- Don’t Rush the Pour: Allow spirits to breathe for a few moments before tasting — it softens alcohol notes and opens complex flavors.
- Savor with Intention: Sip slowly, appreciate aroma before taste, and pair thoughtfully with food or fine company.
