Description

James Suckling Review
Rated 96
Fantastic aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, licorice and walnuts. So St.-Julien. Full-bodied with a solid core of fruit and chewy tannins that are really long and serious. Like the 1995 Ducru! One for the cellar. Needs at least until after 2028.

Wine Tasting Notes
La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou Saint Julien is the secong label of Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou. Opaque purple with exuberant notes of crushed cassis, blackberries and bing cherries accompanied by exotic spices of liquorice, dark chocolate, all spice, and a hint of incense smoke. The full-bodied palate explodes with juicy and sweetly aromatic black fruits, framed by a backbone of finely grained, beautifully polished tannins, and lifted by a tantalizing freshness. The kirsch-cassis juice flavors lead to a long, graphite laced finish. Bold, energetic, and very refined.

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot Noir, 4% Petit Verdot

How to Serve Liquor – Quick Tips

How to Serve Liquor – Quick Tips
  • Temperature Matters: Serve whiskey and bourbon at room temperature, vodka chilled, and tequila slightly cool to preserve aroma and balance.
  • Choose the Right Glass: Use a rocks glass for whiskey, a flute or coupe for sparkling spirits, and a tulip or snifter for aged liquors.
  • Don’t Rush the Pour: Allow spirits to breathe for a few moments before tasting — it softens alcohol notes and opens complex flavors.
  • Savor with Intention: Sip slowly, appreciate aroma before taste, and pair thoughtfully with food or fine company.
