Ruby red in color, Chianti Superiore shows typical Sangiovese character with notes of cherries and violets followed by hints of vanilla and clove. The palate is dominated by ripe fruit flavors with the well-balanced structure leading to an elegant finish of ripe cherries and plums. 75% Sangiovese (minimum required by DOCG) and 25% other red varieties including Canaiolo Nero, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot as permitted by Chianti Superiore regulations.
