One of the most powerful Trefethen Cabernets I have tasted in some time, with a bevvy of soaring tannins that imbue this wine with a hearty structure, complemented by that unmistakable Oak Knoll District freshness, layered in as a firm spine of zesty acidity. Loads of blue fruit and lilac florals are nuanced by graham cracker spices and rich, toasty cedar wood. Those rich tannins have so much staying power through the dry finish that when they eventually resolve, hints of black liquorice and dried fennel add further complexity to this medium to full-bodied stunner.
