James Suckling Review
Rated 93
Excellent balance and harmony between depth and freshness from a cooler year, with notes of paprika, dark olives, fresh herbs and cassis. Medium- to full-bodied, with firm, nicely chewy tannins and a long structured finish. Tannins are very reactive here. A bit more bones than flesh from this year. Drink or hold.
Wine Tasting Notes
Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Carmenere appears deep dark red with purple hints. Intense black fruit aromas, blackcurrant and black pepper combined with delicate notes of sage, tobacco and Provence herbs. Spices come back at the finish to add complexity. Soft tannins with a firm body. Well balanced structure, good acidity and long aftertaste.
