Description
Jeb Dunnuck Review Rated 98 The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville comes from Oakville Ranch, and like all of the 2019s here, it's a brilliant bottle of wine. Pure cassis, toasted spice, leather, camphor, and dried herbs are just some of its nuances, and it's full-bodied, with a layered, seamless mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a rock star of a finish. It does have a touch of background oak, and while there's no harm drinking bottles today (which is common with the 2019s), it's going to benefit from 2-4 years in the cellar. It should have over two decades of overall longevity. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2039.
Wine Tasting Notes The 2019 Favia Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville is all about freshness, purity, and intensity. From a vintage that will continue to attract attention, this wine comes across the palate with a serious rush. Bright red cherry, sarsaparilla, flint, and vanilla drive the profile of this perfectly ripe, fruit-centered beauty. In addition to the pure fruit flavors, there are hints of umeboshi, maraschino, and slate. The palate and finish are highly polished, and as the impression lengthens and lingers, more layers of fruit and spice are revealed. An instant classic, this wine will age for two decades or more in the cellar.
