Raspberry jam, cloves, new leather and menthol are all precise and delineated throughout. Firm beams of tannin give the wine its energy and sense of drive. 2012 at Meteor Vineyard was a text-book Napa Valley vintage. Meteor Vineyard Perseid Napa Cabernet is richly colored, complex and balanced. Look for notes of wild bramble berries, currants, pepper infused chocolate, pain epice, sandalwood and a subtle savory base note. The balance is bright with a focus on structure. On the palate the tannins are firm but richly textured and chewy. The layers of flavor linger.
